Devlog #27: Late night coding

Hi,
Today I have just been starting on the item system. So far the player just presses a key to place to a tripwire, the purple thing you can see in the image. However, I will need to have multiple buttons later, as in a hotbar sort of thing with UI to indicate which items are assigned where, and the tripwire doesn't actually do anything yet. Tomorrow, I will make it slow enemies down. Another issue is that the player sprite covers the whole tile, so you can't even see the item you have just placed until you move off it. I'll have to fix this, probably by just making the player sprite as well as the enemy sprites a bit smaller.
It is currently 4am, because I got home late, but I still wanted to get some stuff done, though I have struggled to focus a bit haha.
Okay so tomorrow, I will make the tripwire actually do something, and I will drafting ideas for the hotbar UI design.
See ya!
